WHERE IS THE TRUTH

Where is the truth?

In the American Spectator December 2000 issue it was stated that scientists had proven their thesis in the "peppered moth experiment" by using glue. Let me explain. In the 1950's British physician Bernard Kettleworth provided what seemed to be conclusive evidence of natural selection. During the previous century, peppered moths in England had gone from being predominantly light-colored to being predominantly dark-colored. It was thought that this occurred because dark moths were better camouflaged on pollution-darkened tree-trunks, and thus less likely eaten by predatory birds. In an article written for Scientific American, Kettlewell called this "Darwin's missing evidence." Peppered moths soon became the classic example of natural selection in action, and the story is still retold in most introductory biology textbooks, accompanied by photographs of the moths on tree trunks.

In the 1980's, however, researchers discovered evidence that the official story was flawed. The true fact is that the peppered moth does not come out until dark, and during the day they hide under upper branches. By releasing moths during the day, Kettlewell had created an artificial situation that does not exist in nature. So where did all those textbook photos of moths on trees come from? They were all staged. Some of the photographers even glued dead moths to trees. Almost any current biology textbook teaches that the peppered moth is evidence for natural selection.

Here's another example of how the scientists are not keeping the public informed about their findings. The Darwinist "homology" argument is a classic case of circular reasoning. They state as fact that fish, reptiles, birds, and human embryos are all similar in early development with having gills. Human embryos never have gills nor even rudimentary ones.

How about Darwin's finches? As late as 1999 a booklet published by the U.S. National Academy of Sciences describes Darwin's finches as "a particularly compelling example" of the origin of species. They say after one year of drought the finches beaks develop a 5% increase in size showing evolutionary change in the birds. What the article failed to report was that after the water returned, the birds beaks returned to normal! Withholding evidence in order to give the impression that Darwin's finches confirm evolutionary theory borders on scientific misconduct. The proof is in the pudding.

The only answer is CREATION. I think Christians must stand up for the truth, not just a "theory." Is there anyone out there? What will you do with the truth?
